Next to the water receiving water on the west side that flows gently is a rice field called Mifuda, and in front of the rapidly flowing water on the east side is a rice field called Uida, which is the setting of the legend of the origin of rice cultivation in Ryukyu.

The rice planting ceremony inherited from Tamaki Nakamura Canal (Nakadakari) Ward, Oida Gogan, is an event to thank the gods for the beginning of rice. Rice is planted in the parent field adjacent to the water receiving and running water, and a ritual is held in a nearby square called Uyuemo, and all participants are treated to a feast.

It is also designated as a city's intangible folk cultural property and is held every year on the first noon day of the year according to the lunar calendar.
