It is said to be a spiritual spring from which the sun god descended. When the king and the prince visited Kudaka Island, the celebrants (noro) sang and prayed for the safety of the voyage.

Teda is a word that means sun, and it is said that the sun god descended here.

In the old days, when the king and the prince of Kantoku visited Kudaka Island, the celebrants (noro) sang Omoro (an old song handed down to Amami and Ryukyu) and prayed for the safety of the passage so that the ship could sail safely. This is reached by passing the lighthouse at Chinensaki and going down the slope, but it is difficult to imagine that it was once a well without a stone monument and an explanatory plaque that says Teda Mikawa.

According to the description, the clear water dried up due to quarrying from the famous Gusuku behind it around Showa 8. However, it is a sacred sight to see the deep blue sea spread out in front of you and Kudaka Island can be seen almost due east.

It is still revered by the people as a sacred place around the eastern world.
