It is a legendary place where it is said that the heavenly maiden landed. A temporary palace was built on the occasion of the new descent of King Kantoku, and it was also the departure and arrival point for the king and King Kantoku to visit Kudaka Island.

A place of worship in Yonabaru, Yonabaru.

Since it was a seaside in ancient times, it is also known as "Beach Palace". In addition, according to the Ryukyu Country Origin Book, which describes the ancient traditional society of Ryukyu, the name of the god here in Gotenyama is "Amaoretsukasa", and it is written that it is the place where the heavenly maiden descended from the heavens.

On the occasion of the enthronement ceremony of the kingdom's supreme priestess, the prince Kantoku, called the Goshin Descent, a temporary palace was built on this site, and a ceremony of holy water was performed. It was also the departure and arrival point for pilgrimages to the sacred island of Kudaka Island for the king and the prince of Kantoku, and at that time too, a temporary palace was built, and it crossed from the beach of Yonabaru here to Kudaka Island. The place of worship was lost in the Battle of Okinawa and is now slightly moved from its original location.

In the past, this place was not included in the pilgrimage site in Monchu, but it is visited by many worshippers as a key point related to the royal palace.
